Adding the Lightailing kit brings the Sorting Hat to life in a way that feels completely on-theme.
What I love most is how each house banner is individually illuminated. Seeing the colors of Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff glowing beneath the Hat adds depth and makes the entire display feel more magical. The lighting draws your eye downward and really highlights details that might otherwise fade into the background on a shelf.
And then there’s the mouth light — such a clever touch. When the Hat “speaks,” that subtle glow inside the mouth adds a dramatic effect that makes it feel even more animated. It enhances the personality of the build without overpowering it.
Overall, this kit does what great lighting should do: it enhances the storytelling. It doesn’t distract from the build — it complements it.
After installing thr Lightailing lights on the Sorting Hat Lego set, and setting it up in the office, I re lived numerous comments on the beautiful colored lights. It is a big hit that people love to walk by and see.
