lego custom builds

In an earlier post we talked you through LEGO MOCs and how to get started on making your own, but we also finished on telling you to checkout websites where you could build LEGO MOCs that others had created.

Well, rather than leaving you to traipse through the internet blindly, we thought we'd also provide you with a list of LEGO MOC websites with LEGO MOCs for sale and LEGO MOC ideas so you can really immerse yourself in the MOC community.

So, without further ado, here are the 7 best places for MOC lovers to purchase other people's MOC kits or show off creations of their own!

1. Pinterest

Let's get started with something you're probably all familiar with: Pinterest. It's the place to go if you have a picture worth sharing, and there's no better thing to share than your most recent MOC design. There's already a bustling LEGO MOC community over there, so you're bound to find people that love your work as much as you do, and if nothing else, it's a great place for an ego boost.

Besides that, it's also the perfect place to head for inspiration, so if you're not sure how to get started on your next LEGO MOC, then heading to Pinterest is a great idea. Here you'll find lots of other LEGO MOC ideas and designs that might just give you the spark of creativity you need to get started.

2. Rebrickable

We mentioned Rebrickable during our last post about MOCs, but we thought it was worth mentioning again to highlight its importance in the MOC community online. Rebrickable is one of the best places to find LEGO MOCs for sale because it is a hive of activity for people who sell their own MOC kits and/or instructions for others to enjoy. The LEGO instructions take you through every step of the process and they're always well thought out and easy to follow.

The website breaks down MOCs into the newest, hottest, and discounted sets, so you can always find something new and original to try and build for yourself. You can usually pick up MOC instructions for a steal too, so it's a great place to start if you're just looking into MOC ideas for yourself for the first time.

3. BrickLink

BrickLink is the place to be if you want to create MOCs for yourself, and source bricks for your specific build. The Studio feature is something we love, because designing your own MOC is really simple this way, and it forces you to think carefully about your design before just jumping in.

Often poor planning is what lets you down during a LEGO MOC, so by accessing the Studio section of this site you get to create something that's much more workable, even if it isn't perfect right away.

You can also head over to their MOC website to purchase other people's MOCs and get inspiration, or sell a MOC kit of your own once you've signed up.

4. The Brothers Brick

The Brothers Brick is the perfect place to go if you want some free inspiration for your MOC builds. They're a passionate team of MOC builders themselves, and they provide hundreds of fresh ideas with instructions on how to build their creations so you can understand their thought processes every step of the way.

It's got everything from designs based on animals, characters, movies, and vehicles, and almost everything in between. This is the best LEGO MOC website for those searching for some inspiration of their own!

5. MOCHUB

The MOCHUB is a wonderful website dedicated to matching MOC enthusiasts with MOC creators, and when you first click on the site you'll be asked which one you are. So, if you're just looking for LEGO MOCs for sale, then this place will work just fine for you, but if you want to show off your creative flair and have others purchase some of your MOC kits, then this is a great place to do it too.

Just make sure you read everything about the MOC kit before purchasing if you are buying from other creators, because the creators are usually very good at explaining exactly what is included, what isn't, and at providing links to other things you may need to complete the MOC such as stickers, etc. Otherwise you might be disappointed if you didn't read the info beforehand.

6. MOCsMarket

This MOC website is dedicated to LEGO instructions and MOC kits, so you can find pretty much anything you're looking for over on this website. Obviously the LEGO instructions are much cheaper to buy because you'll need to source the bricks yourself, but if you've already got an extensive LEGO collection, then you might have all the pieces you need already.

The LEGO MOC kits will cost you more because the creator provides you with everything: the instructions and the bricks you need to make it - just like a LEGO set. But this can be a great place to start if you're new to MOCs and LEGO in general, and you don't have quite as many bricks as you'd like just yet.

That way, you're building your own collection of bricks and practicing MOCs at the same time, so one day you'll be ready to build and show off your own creations!

7. Flickr

Our last suggestion is another one for those who are just looking to show off their MOC to the world. Flickr is a great photo sharing site, but it's also a place where you can pick up some great ideas from other MOC creators. If you're lucky, you can sometimes find ones with free instructions too, depending on how generous the creator is being.

Either way, it's a great place for those who are looking into LEGO MOCs and the site is very accessible for newbies too, so you can get used to it and find and post the content you want quickly. And in our books, the quicker you can get to MOCs, the better!
