We love LEGO Mech builds because they feel powerful in two ways. First, the strength of them for storytelling and playing is second to none. Who doesn't want to see a Thanos Mech go toe-to-toe with LEGO's Monkey King Warrior Mech, you know? But second, they're powerful because they are some of the most exciting builds to build and display, and they're interchangeable too. So many MOCs are created using parts from LEGO Mech sets, but we'll talk more about that below.
As ever, we think you can enhance the display and play elements with some LEGO lighting, but LEGO Mech lights aren't something you can find easily in lighting kits. So, where does that leave you? Well, with our LEGO Mech MOC lighting solution today, the problem is solved. All you need is a little imagination, a DIY lighting kit, and, hey presto, your LEGO Mech sets are looking more amazing than ever.

Well, take a look at these examples and some of our very basic ideas (trust us, you guys can get WAY more creative than we can here) as a jumping off point to get your creative juices flowing!
LEGO Marvel Avengers Thanos Mech 76141
Thanos' Mech set from LEGO is one of our all-time favorites because it has so many amazing details. Details that can be made even better with a DIY lighting project. Take the amazing infinity gauntlet on the Mech's left hand. Looks great, doesn't it? But the infinity stones in the movies and comics look amazing because they almost shine. Well, why not create a DIY lighting kit that uses different colored dot lights to illuminate the stones?
You see our point, right? Everything about the Thanos Mech/Moc is amazing as it is. There's no denying that. But when you think of different ways to illuminate it, it's easy to see that certain aspects of it can be made better. Strip lights on his boots, for example, or dot lights in the mech's cockpit to make his face really stand out. Your creativity can run wild when you think about ways to improve Thanos' Mech...
LEGO NINJAGO Fire Stone Mech (71720)
Likewise, the LEGO NINJAGO Fire Stone Mech is amazing, and we understand why so many people leave it as it is. The colors pop, the weapons are insane, and the Mech is perfect for storytelling and recreating scenes of the Ninjas' escape from Shintaro Mountain.
But when you take a step back with lighting in mind, then DIY lighting kit ideas just start coming to you. Sure, the Mech's stud shooter looks amazing on its own, but it'd look better lit. And yes, the Fire Stone Mech is one of the most poseable sets yet, making it one of the most displayable Mech sets, but it would look even better on display with Mech lights. And all you need to improve it are some of the accessories we have available in our store.
LEGO Monkey King Warrior Mech (80012)
We love the LEGO Monkey King Warrior Mech, and we're sure many of you do, too. It's bright, it's one of the most original Mech sets for storytelling, and it's so incredibly detailed that we can't think of a single way to improve it. Besides lights. Everything's better with lights...
The Monkey King Warrior Mech has one of the more interesting ways of the minifigures getting into the cockpit, because instead of it being on top like it usually is, it's in the chest and it actually opens and closes, literally putting the minifigures at the heart of the action.
And from a purely display perspective, this opening/closing cockpit creates some really exciting lighting opportunities that can take this already incredible Mech set to the next level. This Mech is 40cm tall too, so imagine how imposing you could make it look with just a few strip or dot lights here and there to make it really pop!
LEGO 31115 MOC
LEGO Mech set 31115 is a space mining mech and on its own it's incredible. We love the idea of a space mining mech, one that's less about fighting and adventure (as all the others are on this list) and more about science and discovery. That makes for more interesting lighting ideas as you think about the different things you want to highlight. The weapons are no longer important, but making the jetpack glow when taking off to explore might be.
But more than that, LEGO 31115 MOCs are very popular online because it's such an interchangeable set that can be used for alternate builds and other MOCs. We've seen an AT-ST from Star Wars recently made entirely from the 31115 Mech set. Why are we telling you this? Because thinking outside the box should be celebrated.
So start to think about how you can use your Mech sets differently, or how you can create LEGO Mech MOCs and DIY lights to make your builds even more special. We can provide you with the accessories and lighting you need to change the entire feel of your LEGO Mech sets right here on our website. All you need is a little imagination.
We hope we've given you some great starting points today so you can get the ball rolling, and we can't wait to see all your LEGO Mech MOC lighting solutions and DIY lighting ideas online soon!
